Definition

A count of participants who were in service in the Transition to Work program at the data extraction date, disaggregated by participant employment region, cohort and allowance group.

Transition to Work helps young people aged 15-24 into work (including apprenticeships and training) or education. Transition to Work participants receive intensive, pre-employment support to develop practical skills to get a job, connect with education or training, find local job opportunities and connect with relevant local community services.

Computation

A total count of participants who were in service in Transition to Work at the data extraction date, as calculated by counting participant identifiers with:

  • a related contract referral placement that has a contract type of 'TTW6' (Transition to Work), and
  • a placement status code value of 'PND' (Pending), 'COM' (Commenced) or 'SUS' (Paused).

Computation

A total count of participants who were in service in Transition to Work at the data extraction date, as calculated by counting participant identifiers with:

  • a related contract referral placement that has a contract type of 'TTW6' (Transition to Work), and
  • a placement status code value of 'PND' (Pending), 'COM' (Commenced) or 'SUS' (Paused).

A contract referral placement is the instance of a participant establishing a service relationship with a provider's site within an employment region for a specific employment service program. They are used in combination with participant identifiers for this count as a participant may have a pending placement in one program while currently commenced in another and therefore can be counted as 'in service' in more than one program at a time.
