Definition
A measurable result achieved by a Participant following engagement with an Employment Services Program, indicating progress toward or attainment of employment or education. Outcomes are categorised by duration (4, 8,12, 18 or 26 weeks, depending on the program) and type (Full or Partial, Employment, Education, Hybrid or Sustainment), and are verified through earnings, hours worked or studying, achievement of a qualification or participation in approved complementary programs.

Outcomes in Australian Government Employment Services programs are intentionally varied in design and type to reflect each program’s distinct policy objectives, target cohorts, and service delivery models. As a result, the definition, structure and measurement of outcomes differ significantly across programs. This variation ensures that outcomes are meaningful, measurable, and aligned with the specific goals and operational context of each service.
