Definition

The Wage Subsidy Agreement table provides data on the Youth Bonus Wage Subsidy and the Workforce Australia Services Wage Subsidy for Workforce Australia Services (Provider Services), Workforce Australia Broome Employment Services (Broome Services), Workforce Australia Yarrabah Employment Services (Yarrabah Services) and Workforce Australia Transition to Work (TtW) participants.
Wage subsidies are for new ongoing employment positions and can be for a full-time, part-time, casual, a traineeship or apprenticeship position. Up to $10,000 is available to support individuals after 6 months in provider-based services, or immediately from commencement for Indigenous clients or clients who have spent a minimum of 12 months in Workforce Australia Online (prior to commencing with a provider). An individual can only be eligible for, and receive, one wage subsidy at any given time.
Wage subsidies are a tool used to encourage employers to hire eligible participants from the caseload into ongoing employment. Wage subsidies can assist Employers to offset some of the initial costs associated with hiring a new employee who may require additional support to secure the job placement.
